I've always loved two things: cute little things, and making things by hand. Pippey is where they meet.
I also always wanted to build something of my own, something I'd love enough to work on every day and that other people might love too.
Every Pippey character is based on a real person in my life. Hazel, our first, is based on my best friend. She's the one who shows up first and stays last, who can tell something is wrong before you say a word, and who is a lot of fun to gossip with. Hazel's name felt right, the way a hazel tree feels like somewhere friends would gather.
Each kit lets you make a character with your own hands, with no sewing, and keep a small friend that means something to you. Pippey is my way of saying thank you to the people and things that have mattered most to me.
